A family of four in Louisiana was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide. Investigators believe money problems have played a part in the incident given the “deplorable” condition the family’s house was in.
On February 9, around 7:50 a.m., a man had called and reported to 911 that they would find four dead bodies in a home at the 1100 block of Curtis Street in Harvey, south of downtown New Orleans. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto says that when deputies were dispatched and arrived at the location, they indeed found the dead bodies along with notes and weapons that suggest the incident was some kind of a murder-suicide.According to Geller, a man and a woman were discovered in a bedroom. However, the locations where the other two victims were found have not been cleared. The man, Timothy Earl Ragas, 43, and the woman Joanna Ragas, 45, were identified as the parents. The other two victims were their sons Eric Thornblom, 20, and Timothy Bruce Ragas, 14. Eric was reportedly a biological son of Joanna and a stepson of Timothy Earl. Timothy Earl was also said to be a former police officer but it was not revealed what agency he belonged to. To date, further investigations to the case are still ongoing.
