Up To $1,050 Stimulus Checks In 5 U.S. States: Is Your State One Of Them?

Up to $1,050 in stimulus checks are being issued in 5 different states in the U.S. These checks are intended to provide financial relief to Americans despite the recent inflation of 6.5%.

CALIFORNIA

According to Povey, the residents of California are receiving one-time payments worth $200 to $1,050. These payments are under the state’s Middle Class Tax Refund program. Those who have modified their information after filing a 2020 tax return should have been given a debit card between December 17, 2022 and January 14, 2023. However, those who have modified their address will be given a debit card between January 30 and February 14, 2023.

IDAHO

In Idaho, one-time payments of up to $600 are also being issued. Individual filers will receive a minimum of $300, while those who filed jointly will receive $600. The tax rebates were originally authorized to reduce taxes and decrease the state’s budget surplus in September 2022. The payments will continue to be issued until March, especially if tax returns were filed late or had issues during the process. 

MASSACHUSETTS

In Chelsea, Massachusetts, the stimulus payments are under a universal basic income program that started in December 2022. The first batch of monthly payments was issued to 2,000 households from November 2020 until August 2021. The second batch provided up to $400 to 700 residents from January to March this year. To qualify, one must be a resident of Chelsea and earn below the 30% of the Area Median Income. Unfortunately, the deadline for online applications has already ended last January 6.

VIRGINIA

In Alexandria, Virginia, the stimulus payments are under the Alexandria Recurring Income for Success and Equity (ARISE) program. The ARISE provides 170 recipients with $500 per month for 24 months. The first batch of payments was issued on the last week of January via debit-like cards. The second batch is scheduled to be issued this month. To qualify, one must reside in Alexandria and be at least 18 years old. They must also earn an income at or less than 50% of the Area Median Income.

WISCONSIN

According to Dumandan, in Madison, Wisconsin, the stimulus payments are under The Madison Forward Fund. $500 in monthly payments have been issued since October 2022 and will be continuing for one year. The next batch of payments is expected to be issued this February. To qualify, one must live in Madison, have at least one child, and earn a household income of less than 200% of the federal poverty line. A total of 155 households with low incomes were randomly selected from around 3,000 applications.
