Starting this weekend, PBS will begin premiering a new six-part documentary series called Chasing the Tide, as part of its larger “Made in Texas” series.

The series chronicles couple Jay and Chrissy Kleberg‘s expedition along the Texas Gulf Coast, a twenty-one-day trek where they walked across Texas’ seven barrier islands, a distance spanning more than 370 miles.

In the audio above, Chasing the Tide director and producer, Jay Kleberg tells Houston Matters producer Joshua Zinn more about the series, what the couple experienced along their long journey, and what they discovered when passing through Galveston Island.

Chasing the Tide will premiere locally on Monday, October 7, and air each Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from Oct. 12 through Nov. 16 on Houston Public Media TV 8.
