Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee representing 120 people in lawsuits against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs – Houston Public Media

Houston attorney Tony Buzbee will now be representing more than 100 people in separate lawsuits against rapper and record executive Sean “Diddy” Combs, who’s been federally indicted for alleged sex trafficking.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Buzbee said they’ve been contacted by thousands of people, and as of now, they’re actively representing 120 people who say they’ve been sexually assaulted by Combs or his peers. Many of these alleged cases have a similar beginning: a drink laced with a drug called xylazine, a tranquilizer that’s not approved for use on people, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.

“Once that drink takes effect, the perpetrators perform all kinds of sexual acts on the victims, many times passing him or her around as other people watch and enjoy the show and then leave the victim ashamed, confused, injured and wondering what happened,” Buzbee explained.

Buzbee said they’re in the process of vetting the growing number of cases that are coming in and will begin filing the lawsuits within the next 30 days. The allegations will include violent sexual assault or rape, sexual abuse of a minor, sexual misconduct, and false imprisonment, among other accusations, Buzbee said.

Last month, a Harris County woman filed a separate lawsuit against Combs, claiming that he sexually assaulted and raped her in New York back in 2001. This comes just two weeks after Combs was arrested and charged with sex trafficking in New York. The indictment alleges he took part in racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution since 2008.

The day after the indictment was unsealed, Combs was denied bail twice and is currently in jail awaiting trial.

During the Tuesday press conference, Buzbee said federal investigators have spoken with a few of his clients, and added that he’s urging victims to share their stories with authorities. He’s also imploring victims to come forward if they haven’t already, either to law enforcement or the Buzbee law firm using their newly created hotline: 1-800-200-7474.

Notably, of the 120 people represented by Buzbee, about 25 were minors when they were allegedly victimized by Combs. One of these victims, an unnamed 9-year-old boy, had allegedly auditioned for a record deal in New York City. According to Buzbee, Combs sexually abused the boy after promising him and his parents that he’d be given a record deal.

Another case involves a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly flown out to New York City to attend a party, where she was allegedly drugged, taken into a private room and raped by several people — all in the presence of Combs, according to Buzbee.

Another minor alleged that the music mogul would make him a star, but he first needed to visit Combs in private about it, away from his parents. Once they were in a private area, Combs allegedly made the boy perform oral sex on him, Buzbee said.

Additionally, Combs isn’t the only person in their crosshairs.

“I expect that through this process many powerful people will be exposed,” Buzbee said. “The day will come when we will name names other than Sean Combs, and there’s a lot of names.”
