According to the report of The US Sun, owners of Dodge Ram trucks from 2013 to 2015 with Cummins Diesel engines might get a share of a $6 million payout because of engine problems. The issue involves the selective catalytic reduction system in these trucks, which can cause emissions issues. If you bought or leased one of these trucks between November 26, 2014, and July 13, 2016 in certain states, you could get about $100.40 per truck.

Class Action Settlements

Although FCA US LLC and Cummins didn’t admit fault and they agreed to pay to settle the class action lawsuit. Owners in 16 states including Alabama, Florida, and Michigan, don’t need to do anything to get their money, as long as they don’t opt out by August 21, 2024. The final approval of this settlement will be decided on October 10, 2024, and eligible owners will automatically receive their payment if they stay in the class.

Hyundai and Kia are also settling a separate class action lawsuit related to vehicle theft with a $145 billion payout. This issue involves cars from 2011 to 2022 that are easier to steal because they lack engine immobilizers. This problem, highlighted by a TikTok trend caused a rise in vehicle thefts during the COVID-19 pandemic leading to legal action and compensation for affected car owners.
