Philips Respironics Settlement Offers $100 for Recalled Devices
How to Claim Your $100 Payment and What to Do If You’ve Already Returned Your Device
According to The U.S. Sun, Americans who bought or rented certain Philips Respironics medical devices might be eligible for a $100 payment from a $494 million settlement. This settlement comes from a class action lawsuit over a recall of specific CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator devices starting in June 2021. The recall was due to concerns that the foam inside these devices could break down and be inhaled by users. The devices affected were sold between 2008 and 2021. Note that this settlement does not cover any claims for personal injuries or medical monitoring.
To get the $100 payment individuals must return each recalled device to Philips Respironics by August 9, 2024. If you return your device by this date you do not need to fill out a claim form. A prepaid shipping label for the return is provided at no cost. If you are still using the device it is best to consult your doctor before sending it back. For those who have already returned their device or no longer have it you should check the “Option Charts” or Interactive Eligibility and Benefits Determination for more details on how to proceed.

Class action lawsuits like this are a way to address large-scale issues effectively. If you need more information or have questions about your eligibility you should review the settlement details or contact the settlement administrator.
