Sweet Relief: 1M Low-Income Families to Receive Extra Money in August

Breaking News: Over 1 Million Low-Income Families to Receive Extra Money

When and How You Can Get Your Check

According to NEWS10, Governor Kathy Hochul made a big announcement. She said that over a million families with low incomes will get extra money. This money will help families with kids who need it most. The families won’t need to sign up for the extra money, which will be added to their tax refund.

The extra money will start coming in the mail in early August. Families who got at least $100 from the Empire State Child Credit on their tax return will get a check. The state is giving away $350 million to help low-income families with kids. The amount each family gets will vary, but they can use an online calculator to figure out how much they’ll get.

How the Expanded Empire State Child Credit Affects You

The good news is that more kids are now eligible for the Empire State Child Credit. Before, only kids who were 4 or older could get it. Now, kids of all ages can get it. This means 600,000 more kids can get help every year. Governor Hochul’s office is happy about this change because it helps families who need it most. With this extra money, many families can feel more secure and plan for their future.
