The project started with a plan to give 200 hot-hold carts, but then they changed their plan to make more types of carts, including ones that can cook food. The county has also been criticized for not telling vendors what is going on or when they will get the carts.

Permitted Vendors Thrive Despite LA County’s Delayed Cart Project, Inspiring Hope for Future Success

Despite the delays, some vendors have had success. Beverly Estrada owns a cart that she uses to sell tamales. She got her cart and now she sells tamales at a big store in Downey. This shows that having a permitted cart is important for vendors. They are hoping that the county will finish the project soon so they can get their new carts.
