According to Howtogeek, The Affordable Connectivity Program is ending today. This program was started to help people who didn’t have enough money to pay for the internet. The government gave them $30 per month to get high-speed internet. This helped 23 million households in the US get online. But now, the government doesn’t have enough money to keep the program going.

Starting June 1st, the program will stop, and people won’t be able to get the discounted rates. Many people are worried about this because they won’t be able to afford the internet anymore. The person in charge of the FCC said that 77% of the people who got help from the program would be hurt by its end.

But some internet companies are helping by offering special plans for $30 or less until the end of the year. Companies like AT&T, Verizon, Spectrum, and Comcast are offering these plans to help people who need them. We don’t know how long these plans will last, but for now, people can get help. Politicians need to work together to make sure everyone can get affordable internet in the future.
