According to the report of THE JOPLIN GLOBE, in the Missouri Senate there a big problem getting tax credits for child care approved. Senator Lauren Arthur a Democrat from Kansas City wants to give tax breaks to people who pay for child care companies that help with child care costs for their workers and child care providers themselves. This is supposed to help make child care easier to afford and find. But some senators from the Freedom Caucus like Senator Bill Eigel do like it. They think these tax breaks only help certain people and do solve the whole problem.

Senator Arthur says these senators are playing politics by blocking the bill. They using it as a way to get what they want instead. But she willing to talk and make changes to the bill to get more support. She says its really important to get this done soon especially because Governor Parson is behind it. If it does happen now it might not happen at all. So the decision in the Missouri Senate will affect how child care works in the state depending on what the governor wants.
