Inclusive Playground and Cost-Saving Measures Discussed at Elizabethtown School Board Meeting
At the recent Elizabethtown Area school board meeting on March 12, they talked about money for the next school year and things to help everyone feel included, according to the article of Lancaster Online. They looked at raising property taxes by 3.75% to pay for stuff. They also talked about giving older people with low incomes some money back on their taxes to help them out called rebates for seniors. Some people thought this was a good idea but others worried it might make taxes higher for everyone else.
They also talked about making the playground at Bear Creek School better for kids with different abilities. They want to add new equipment and surfaces so that every kid can play together. They also talked about saving money on building projects like changing the type of railing for a new building.
