Oregon Taxpayers Rush to Claim Record-Breaking Kicker Tax Credits as Deadline Nears
Oregon Taxpayers Reap Windfall with Nearly $1.6 Billion Bonus Claimed
Oregon taxpayers are getting a big bonus this year with almost $1.6 billion claimed from a total $5.61 billion in extra money. The tax department has already processed 950,000 returns and expects 1.2 million more before the April 15 deadline. That means over $4 billion more could be claimed. Officials say it’s important not to wait until the last minute to file. Even if someone didn’t have to file taxes last year they still need to submit a return to get their bonus money which is based on what they paid in Oregon taxes in 2022.
