According to the report of MarketWatch, the White House wants to help students with their loans by making some changes. They want to get rid of the extra fees students have to pay when they take out loans. This would mean students get all the money they need for school without any deductions. They also want to keep a rule from when COVID started that says if your loans get forgiven you won have to pay taxes on that money. These ideas are part of a bigger plan to fix the student loan system especially after the Supreme Court said no to President Biden idea of canceling a lot of student debt.

They already working on a plan for that. People who support these changes think they really important for helping students and making it easier for everyone to go to college. But there might be problems especially about the tax rules for forgiven loans. Some Republican lawmakers might not like that part. Despite that the White House still wants to make college cheaper. They talking about giving more money to students with Pell Grants and maybe even making community college free. As they talk about these ideas they have to think about how politics work and what best for students who want to go to college.
