According to the report of METRO, New York City is dealing with a big problem lots of migrants coming in. Jacques Jiha who watches over the city money told the City Council that the federal government only gave $49 million out of $150 million they promised. Jiha said its tough to get the rest because of strict rules. The city has already spent $4 billion to help migrants since 2022.

NYC Budget Demands More Aid as Governor Hochul $4.3 Billion Pledge Falls Short for Migrant Crisis

Governor Kathy Hochul said she give $4.3 billion in 2024 and 2025 to help with the migrant issue. Councilman Justin Brannan blamed House Republicans for not giving enough money. Speaker Adrienne Adams said the city has enough money from taxes to fix things and should use it wisely.
