According to the report of DT NEWS, in Los Angeles County a new program called Claim Your Cash is helping poor families get more money back from taxes. Economic Security California started this program with help from other groups like the LA County CEO Office. They want to help 3,000 low-income families get state and federal tax credits. Monica Lazo who runs the program says they focus on people already getting help from the county. They use places like nonprofits and county offices to tell people about the tax credits they can get.
