According to the report of FOX NEWS, in a big decision the Arizona House of Representatives voted on House Bill 2375. This bill wants to stop any programs in the state that give guaranteed basic income. All Republicans supported it but Democrats did not. They see it as stopping something like socialism. The bill says cities in Arizona can make rules to give money to people without them doing anything for it. This means programs like the one in Phoenix in 2022 where families got $1000 a month for a year without any conditions would be banned.

But in other cities like Phoenix Austin and Houston they trying out similar programs. Some people think these programs help with problems like not having a place to live. But others like a lawmaker in Texas say it’s not fair and could be against the law. Across the country cities are still looking at guaranteed income programs. Places like Austin use money from taxes to help people who don’t have a lot. But in Houston they fighting about if it’s even okay to do. Other cities like Durham and Baltimore are also trying these programs out.
