Inclusive Relief for Homeowners and Renters
The ANCHOR Property Tax Relief Program, aimed at a broader spectrum of homeowners and renters, is set to provide much-needed financial relief to eligible households in New Jersey. The program focuses on offering up to $1,500 in property tax rebates to alleviate the financial strain faced by residents.
To qualify for this substantial relief, recipients must meet specific criteria, including paying property taxes on their primary residence in New Jersey, residing in the residence for the past three years, and being residents of the state for at least a decade. Individuals receiving FSS disability benefits may also be eligible, and there is no age limit for participation in the ANCHOR program.
The extent of financial support varies based on income and housing arrangements. Homeowners earning $150,000 or less annually qualify for the full $1,500 rebate, while those with annual earnings between $150,001 and $250,000 will receive a $1,000 rebate. Renters earning $150,000 or less annually are eligible for a $450 rebate, and senior citizens aged 65 and over will receive an additional $250 on top of their eligible benefit.
