The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a benefits payment that the Social Security Administration (SSA) generally distributes once every month. However, in some cases that adheres to the SSA’s payment schedule, a month can except to receive a Social Security double payment.

According to Quirós Villalba, the SSA’s payment schedule declared that SSI payments are generally distributed on the first day of each month excluding if the date is on a weekend or a holiday. In case of these events, the SSI payments will instead be distributed on the preceding business day. With that said, the month of March can expect to receive a double payment. This is because apart from March 1, the payments will also be received on March 31 since the first day of April is on a Saturday.

Other Months with Social Security Double Payment

According to Nesbit, aside from the month of March, the SSA will also distribute a Social Security double payment to three more months in the year of 2023. This means that the months of June, September, and December can also expect to receive a double payment. This is because for the month of June, the first day of July is a Saturday. For the month of September, the first day of October is a Sunday. Lastly, for the month of December, the first day of January is the New Year’s holiday.
