According to KVRR, in a surprising turn of events in downtown Fargo after the Pride Parade a stabbing led to the arrest of 35-year-old Michael Hurteau. Police were called to the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue North around 3:30 p.m. and discovered a fight among several people that had escalated into a stabbing. Hurteau who is homeless has been charged with two counts of attempted murder. The police are currently investigating to find out what caused the violent incident.

The two individuals who were stabbed received serious injuries though they are not considered life-threatening. They were quickly taken to a nearby hospital where they are receiving medical care. The police have reported that the people involved in the altercation knew each other and that the stabbing was the result of a personal dispute. They have emphasized that there is no connection between this violent event and the Pride Parade that took place earlier in the day, suggesting that it was not an act of random violence.
