In Butler, Pennsylvania, a political rally featuring former President Donald Trump turned chaotic when gunshots rang out targeting Trump himself. Despite initial peace and the event quickly descended into panic as Secret Service agents shielded Trump from the assailant firing shots from outside the venue. Trump suffered a minor injury from a grazing bullet to his ear, and amidst the turmoil and one attendee tragically died with two others critically injured, according to the report of Extra.

Law enforcement agencies swiftly responded launching investigations into the incident. The deceased assailant was identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel, Pennsylvania. Reports that Crooks had made a political donation to a Democratic committee in 2021 raised questions about his possible motives.
