According to UPI, two inmates Tyrekennel Collins 24, and Dezarrious Johnson 18 have been captured following a dramatic escape from the Claiborne County Detention Center in Mississippi. The escape occurred in the early hours of Friday with Nab Tyrekennel Collins and Dezarrious Johnson managing to navigate through a ceiling panel in the jail’s common area. Using improvised bed sheets, they rappelled down from a window setting off an immediate alert from fellow inmates to the jail staff. The daring escape raised concerns throughout the community prompting swift action from local authorities to locate the fugitives.
Law enforcement agencies launched a comprehensive search effort culminating in the successful apprehension of Nab Tyrekennel Collins and Dezarrious Johnson on Saturday morning at an abandoned residence. Despite Johnson sustaining a leg injury during the escape both inmates were found unarmed and taken into custody without further incident. Sheriff Edward Good of Claiborne County emphasized the seriousness of the situation noting that the escaped inmates will now face additional charges related to their escape compounding their initial murder charges in Jefferson County and Copiah County.
