According to FoxNews, Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández was sent to prison for 45 years. He was found guilty of working with drug traffickers and taking money from them to let them bring a lot of cocaine into the United States. Hernández said he was not guilty and that he was being unfairly targeted.

Hernández Sentenced to 45 Years for Enabling Drug Trafficking in Honduras and Protecting Cocaine Smugglers

The judge said Hernández was a bad politician who took bribes from drug traffickers to help them. The judge also said Hernández used his power to protect the people who were bringing drugs into Honduras. Hernández’s sentence is a big win for the US government in their fight against drug trafficking.
