Using surveillance footage from the area officers quickly identified Austwick and moved in to make the arrest without incident.

Jeffery Austwick is accused of killing his two brothers Marc and John Austwick on June 5 in Highland Park, Illinois. The murders occurred at a property near the 1700 block of Park Avenue West which had belonged to their recently deceased mother. Firefighters initially responded to a house fire at the location only to find the bodies of Marc and John with suspicious injuries. Preliminary investigations by the Lake County Major Crime Task Force indicate that a family meeting about the inherited property turned deadly when Jeffery Austwick allegedly shot his brothers and set the house on fire before fleeing.
