Theft Charges Filed Against Texas Man for Allegedly Stealing Kearney Catch-A-Ride Vehicle

A man is accused of felony theft for stealing a car.

Due to allegations that he stole a Kearney Catch-A-Ride vehicle, 32-year-old Pedro Solis Jr. of Kearney, Texas, is facing felony theft charges. According to KNSB Local 4, at 1:15 in the morning, the event happened, and the police were called. After the stolen white Cadillac was discovered in an alleyway behind H&R Block, Solis was discovered in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officers gave Solis instructions, but he disobeyed them, leading to his final arrest. After Solis climbed into the driver’s seat and took off, the taxi driver who had picked him up the first time reported the theft. A preliminary hearing has been set for May 8 at 3:30 p.m., and Solis’s bond has been set at 10% of $20,000.

A Taxi Ride Becomes an Alleged Auto Theft

In Kearney, Texas, Pedro Solis Jr. is accused of stealing a Kearney Catch-A-journey car, turning a normal cab journey into a theft. The cab driver claimed to have picked Solis up close to Gillies Bar, but as Solis started to argue, things got heated. The motorist pulled over in front of the Salvation Army out of fear for his life. This gave Solis the perfect opportunity to grab the wheel and drive off. Later, Solis was found by the police driving the stolen car behind H&R Block. The charges against Solis are misdemeanor obstruction of a peace officer and felony theft. 10% of $20,000 is the bond amount, and a preliminary hearing is planned for May 8 at 3:30 p.m.
