Tow Truck Scam In Calexico

A stolen truck from a tow truck scam in Calexico was found parked on the side of the road with minor damage.

The friend of the truck’s owner spotted the truck and alerted the owner, leading to its recovery from the said tow truck scam.

The Calexico Police Department reminds the public to be cautious of the said tow truck scam, and unmarked tow trucks and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

The Calexico Police Department warns people to be cautious to not be a new victim of the tow truck scam.

Surveillance video shows how the tow truck scam is done where a fake tow truck quickly steals a white truck in an apartment parking lot.

The police are currently seeking help to find those responsible for the tow truck scam.

According to a published article by KSWT, the law requires tow trucks to have visible markings with the company’s name and number to avoid being involved in a tow truck scam.
