Sheriff’s Office Reacts Quickly to Southwest Lincoln Business Alarm

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office reports that over the weekend, there was a break-in at Rod’s Outdoor Power, which is southwest of Lincoln. The property and damages sustained in the break-in exceeded a quarter of a million dollars. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin stated that at approximately five in the morning, deputies responded to an alarm at the company located at the crossroads of U.S. 77 and Saltillo Road. on Sunday. When they got there, they saw that the showroom window was broken, which suggested that the criminals had forced access.

In a Southwest Lincoln break-in, burglars cause extensive damage and steal expensive motorcycles

Seen on security camera, the burglars allegedly backed a car into the shop window to make it easier to steal, taking six Honda motorcycles worth $48,000. The estimated $12,000 in damages to multiple ATVs and motorcycles was sustained in addition to the stolen motorcycles. But the biggest loss was the big display window that was destroyed; the estimated damages were $200,000 in this case. Chief Deputy Houchin hinted to the likelihood of an organized crime ring operating across state lines by drawing a possible connection to a burglary that was similar to one that occurred in St. Joseph, Missouri.
