Detroit Man Arrested in Connection with South Dakota Truck Stop Homicide
Gruesome Details Emerge as Investigation Connects Truck Driver to Victim in South Dakota Tragedy
In a tragic incident, Anthony Harris, a resident of Detroit, was apprehended by authorities on suspicion of involvement in a potential homicide case following the discovery of a woman’s dismembered body at a truck stop in South Dakota. The unsettling event unfolded late on Monday, March 11, when a truck driver stumbled upon the woman’s remains concealed beneath a stack of wooden pallets in the parking lot of the I-90 Travel Center. Initially mistaken for animal remains, further examination revealed the victim to be Melody Gooch, suggesting she may have been struck, dragged, or even run over by a vehicle.
As investigators probed further into the case, they unearthed increasingly unsettling evidence. Particularly alarming was the discovery that Melody’s body was missing its entire head, while another decapitated head, stripped of its skin, was found nearby in a trash can. Surveillance footage from the vicinity captured a truck behaving suspiciously, pausing at the trash can before executing erratic maneuvers within the parking lot, intensifying suspicions regarding the events surrounding the incident.
