Police in Duluth arrested a 34-year-old man on multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm, and criminal property damage.

The man arrested for criminal property damage allegedly attempted to break into his neighbor’s apartment on March 10 and fired a shotgun at the door.

The victim reported an incident to authorities on March 13 involving a Duluth man, filing criminal property damage and other charges against him.

The suspect, who is facing a criminal property damage charge, has not yet been formally charged, as authorities continue to investigate and gather evidence.

The victim contacted authorities following the incident, stating that the man, Hassan Shalgheen, had imposed himself on her during the purported cleansing.

Shalgheen is facing charges of battery, false imprisonment, and theft through deceit. Law enforcement officials are urging individuals with additional details or those who may have been affected to step forward.
