Former Coach Faces Murder Charges in Heartbreaking Domestic Incident

Patrina Best Found Dead: Boyfriend Admits to Strangling Her after Argument

According to True Crime Daily, a 43 year old football and a former coach named Carl Kearney Jr. is now in police custody. He admitted to killing his girlfriend Patrina Best who was 38 years old. Kearney went to the Division V Clinton police station on Saturday February 17 and told the officers that he had strangled Best at her home on St. James Court. When the police arrived at Best’s house they found her dead body. Kearney said that they had been arguing when the incident happened. Kearney is facing charges for murder including first and second degree along with other related crimes.

Spalding High School Coach Carl Kearney Jr. Held in Department of Corrections Amid Investigation

Best’s family revealed that Kearney had been helping her pack for a move as she prepared for a new nursing assignment. Best who earned her nursing degree from Georgia State University worked as an operating room nurse. Described as warm hearted and easy to befriend  and she was beloved by many as expressed by her family in a statement. Kearney was a high school football coach at Spalding High School and had recently received recognition for coaching improvements in the Georgia High School Football Daily’s Class 4A category. Kearney is currently held in the Department of Corrections as the investigation continues.
