Tragic Cellmate Killing Prompts Urgent Dialogue on Mental Health in Lincoln Prisons
Lincoln Judiciary Addresses Mental Health in Ruling on Cellmate Murder Incident
According to Wahoo Newspaper, A judge in Lincoln decided that Angelo Bol in prison didn’t do the tragic cellmate killing of Kevin Carter, because he wasn’t mentally well at the time means he won’t be punished for it. The judge will now have another meeting in March to figure out if Bol is still a danger because of his mental health where there might be a disagreement about whether he should stay in prison or go to a mental health center in Lincoln. A psychologist named Jennifer Cimpl-Bohn said Bol has a sickness called schizophrenia which makes him see and believe things that aren’t real. She explained that Bol’s mental health got worse when he stopped taking his medicine leading him to think that his cellmate Carter was sent by a rival group to harm him.
