State wildlife officials in Arizona are investigating the illegal killing of a desert bighorn sheep in southwest Arizona. They have teamed up with local hunting and conservation groups to offer a $6,500 reward regarding the death of the desert bighorn sheep.
The officials are eager for any information that can lead to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the death of the desert bighorn sheep. The adult desert bighorn sheep was found shot and left for dead near Gila Bend.
According to a published article by AP News, the Arizona Game and Fish Department the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society, the Arizona Deer Association, and the Arizona Antelope Foundation contribute to the reward for finding responsible people for the death of the desert bighorn sheep.
Authorities emphasize that poaching of a desert bighorn sheep is a crime and urge anyone with information to come forward.
The Desert Bighorn Sheep Was Maybe Shot On January 13th
In a published article by Yahoo News, the authorities found the desert bighorn sheep near Enterprise Road, close to an agriculture field, and suspect it was shot around January 13th. The Game and Fish Department stated that there is no valid reason to poach a desert bighorn sheep and waste it.
They urge anyone with information to call the Operation Game Thief Hotline, promising that caller identities will be kept confidential.
