MILLCREEK, Utah — The body of Esperanza Chavez, 25, was found next to a dumpster, and police are still looking into what happened. Police have detained a man for what they believe to be a domestic violence-related murder.

Law enforcement officials responded to a crucial sighting involving a black truck and the distressing sight of an individual disposing of a body near the dumpster. This revealed chilling details, leading to the apprehension of the suspect. 

According to a preliminary investigation, police said they believe the victim, 25-year-old Esperanza Chavez from Salt Lake City, was shot and killed in Edwards’ vehicle.

” This incident is believed to be a culmination of an elongated violent domestic violence history between Mr. Edwards and Ms. Chavez,” officials stated in a press release.

Edwards was caught at the University of Utah hospital, where cops said he was trying to get checked out.

Fred J. Edwards was taken into custody at the University of Utah hospital as he sought evaluation, and he has now been booked into Salt Lake County Jail on a murder charge.
