Houston police arrested 52-year-old Lee Carter for aggravated abduction after he reportedly held a woman captive in his garage for years.
Carter’s Arrest and Victim’s Ongoing Mystery
Authorities arrested Carter at a Houston hotel last Thursday. The unidentified victim is still missing.
Commander Michael Collins of Houston Police said, “It makes me sick as a human being.” He stressed the police department’s commitment to serving the community and pursuing justice for the victim and her family.
Officers arrived at Carter’s home for an abduction complaint in April 2023. When they arrived, they spoke with a woman from one of the home’s windows. She started her struggle four or five years ago when pregnant and panhandling. Carter promised her money and help, but he brought her home and locked her in the garage.
