COLTS’ DREW OGLETREE FACES DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ALLEGATIONS: A GROWING CONCERN FOR THE NFL

On Friday, Indianapolis Colts tight end Drew Ogletree was arrested in Hendricks County, Indiana, raising questions about the team’s AFC playoff chances. The 2022 sixth-round pick faces two Level 6 felonies: domestic violence with a child under 16 and domestic battery with moderate bodily injury. The Colts quickly issued a statement highlighting the allegations and their desire to learn more. Despite the team’s postseason aspirations, Ogletree’s eligibility for future games is unknown.

THE INCIDENT UNFOLDS

The arrest stemmed from an alarming domestic disturbance on Tuesday evening, as Avon, Indiana police responded to a distress call.

Shockingly, the probable cause affidavit detailed a horrifying account of the altercation where the woman involved was found in excruciating pain, allegedly enduring a “body slam” from Ogletree during an argument.

What’s even more distressing is the presence of Ogletree’s young son during this unfortunate event. This led to an arrest warrant issued on Thursday, followed by Ogletree turning himself in on Friday.
