Gypsy Rose Blanchard, aged 32, was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center on a Thursday morning, having served over eight years in prison for her involvement in the 2015 murder of her mother.

After being released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, 32-year-old Gypsy Rose Blanchard immediately embraced her freedom. She was seen shopping for shoes with her spouse at a mall hours after her release on Thursday morning. According to the Daily Mail, Blanchard was visibly happy in an enormous Adidas jacket, blue pants, and a patterned shirt on her post-prison trip.
Blanchard spent nearly 10 years in jail for murdering her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, in 2015. Blanchard smiled while carrying her luggage and going barefoot in release images. She married Ryan Scott Anderson in prison, and he accompanied her on her first public appearance after release.
Blanchard stated her desire for independence and growth before her release. Her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn stabbed Dee Dee to death at her request, resulting in her incarceration. Gypsy Rose told the police that her mother had pushed her to lie about her ailments, garnering sympathy and support for the family.
