49ers odds: The line is down 3 points against the New York Jets in Week 1

The San Francisco 49ers are taking on the New York Jets to begin the season on Monday Night Football, with the game taking place on Monday Night Football.

Much is still in the air for Week 1, as the 49ers just got wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk back, while left tackle Trent Williams is still holding out ahead of the season in search of more guaranteed money on his contract.

So, how are the 49ers seen, odds-wise, against the Jets in Week 1?

Heading into the season opener, the 49ers are 3.5-point favorites against the Jets, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, with the over/under set at 43.5 points. That line was +6 back in the spring, but

One year after suffering a torn Achilles on Monday Night Football, quarterback Aaron Rodgers returns to primetime for a difficult matchup with the 49ers. He’ll work with wideouts Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams, as well as star running back Breece Hall, who could be a big challenge for San Francisco.

The 49ers’ run defense gets an early test against Hall and Co., as their new-look defense line doesn’t include longtime starter Arik Armstead anymore, creating potential issues on the ground.

San Francisco’s passing attack should surely benefit from the return of Brandon Aiyuk, but it’s unclear whether the connection between him and Brock Purdy can be re-established as soon as Week 1 or if the wideout will take more time to ramp up and return to 100 percent.

Additionally, Trent Williams ending his holdout should give the 49ers a boost along the offensive line. If there’s one player who can show up to a game without any previous preseason work, it’s Williams.

The Jets are entering the season with a ton of pressure after finishing the 2023 season 7-10. But, like it did a year ago, New York’s season will almost entirely depend on Rodgers remaining healthy, as his availability changes the outlook of the team.
