According to the report of The US Sun, in San Diego County, $867,171 in unclaimed funds is waiting for its rightful owners. The deadline to claim this money is September 22. Dan McAllister from the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office says it’s important to act quickly. The unclaimed funds come from checks or warrants that the postal service didn’t deliver. If you don’t claim your money by the deadline and it will go to the county’s general fund and you won’t be able to get it back.

In St. Lucie County, Florida, there’s $66,270 in unclaimed checks that residents can still claim. The Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s office has found 123 people who might be owed money. Amounts range from $14 to $4,614. Clerk and Comptroller Michelle R. Miller urges people to check the list on the Clerk’s website to see if they are eligible for any of the unclaimed funds.
