Massachusetts’ Tax-Free Weekend

According to the report of WWLP, Massachusetts’ tax-free weekend has started and will run through Saturday, August 10, and Sunday, August 11. During these two days shoppers can buy most items priced up to $2,500 without paying the 6.25 percent sales tax. This is a great chance to save money on big purchases like appliances.

However, there are some things you still need to pay tax on. Meals, motor vehicles, motorboats, and utility services like gas and electricity are not tax-free. Also, if an item costs more than $2,500 and it won’t be tax-free. Clothing is tax-free if it costs less than $175. Anything over that amount will have tax. Internet purchases are tax-free if you order and pay for them this weekend even if they are delivered later.
