End Gun Violence Michigan’s Silence the Violence Month of Action Campaign

A Call to Action Against Gun Violence

End Gun Violence Michigan is stepping up its fight against gun violence with its Silence the Violence Month of Action campaign. This weekend, they will hold a Memorial March in downtown Detroit, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday at 231 East Grand Blvd. The event will feature marches, resource fairs, and gunlock distributions and all aimed at raising awareness and encouraging change, according to the report of WDET.

Pastor Barry Randolph Leads the Charge Against Gun Violence

Pastor Barry Randolph who started the Silence the Violence march, says gun violence is a big problem caused by laws and politics. He points out that while new Michigan gun safety laws like safe storage rules, universal background checks, and ownership restrictions have started this year, there is still more to do. Randolph believes that fighting gun violence needs ongoing effort and changes in laws both in Michigan and across the country.
