Man Charged with Murder After Pregnant Girlfriend Found Dead in Lynn

Family Drama Escalates: Brother Arrested for Earlier Assault, Zachary Allegedly Returns to Commit Murder

According to WHDH7 News Boston, in Lynn, Massachusetts Zachary Vozzella 26 has been charged with the murder of his brother’s pregnant girlfriend Brianna Welsh 25. Welsh’s body was discovered in her apartment with stab wounds after her mother requested a wellness check. Police arrested Vozzella shortly after and he now faces charges of murder and assault. The community is reeling from the tragic news deeply shocked and saddened by the event.

The charges against Zachary Vozzella follow a troubling sequence of events within the Vozzella family. Earlier in the week Brendon Vozzella, Zachary’s brother had been taken into custody for allegedly assaulting Welsh. Despite his arrest Brendon was cleared of any involvement in her murder and did not return to the apartment afterward. However authorities allege that Zachary came back to the apartment and fatally stabbed Welsh. Investigators later recovered crucial evidence such as a bloody knife and clothing, which was tied to Zachary. Security camera footage showed him arriving at another apartment with bags containing these items.

Zachary Vozzella Pleads Not Guilty and Held Without Bail; Brendon Vozzella Faces Assault Charges

At his arraignment on Thursday Zachary Vozzella pleaded not guilty and was held without bail. His next court date is in September. Brendon Vozzella his brother faces charges for the earlier assault and will be in court on August 6. The community is shocked and grieving with officials and residents expressing their support for Welsh’s family.
