According to True Crime News, in Lake Charles, Louisiana the community has been left reeling by a tragic and distressing incident involving 25-year-old Aaliyah Jack and her two young sons. The ordeal began on July 8 when authorities discovered the lifeless body of 4-year-old Legend Dary Jack in the water near the Vinton Welcome Center. Reports indicated Aaliyah had been seen with both of her sons shortly before this tragic discovery. The following day amidst Tropical Storm Beryl’s turmoil deputies received a distressing call about a baby found alive in a ditch beside I-10. Miraculously it was Aaliyah Jack’s 1-year-old son who had managed to crawl towards the highway and was rescued by a vigilant truck driver who promptly alerted authorities.

The grim findings prompted Aaliyah Jack’s arrest initially for failure to report a missing child. However as the investigation deepened authorities escalated the charges to include two counts of failure to report a missing child cruelty to a juvenile and second-degree murder. Upon her apprehension in Mississippi Aaliyah Jack admitted that drugs had influenced her actions during this tragic event. During her booking at the Calcasieu Correctional Center on July 20 she openly acknowledged to a reporter that she was responsible for causing harm to her children.
