According to Bloombergtax, The US government doesn’t agree with Kyocera AVX Components Corp.’s claim for a $1.7 million tax break. Kyocera said it spent more money on research and development, so it should get the tax break. But the government thinks the company didn’t provide enough proof.

The government says that to get the tax break, companies must show that their extra spending on research led to new discoveries. Kyocera didn’t do this, so the government wants to de the case without a trial.

The disagreement between Kyocera and the government will now go to court, where a judge will decide what happens next.
