Arrest and Confrontation: Officers Injured During Capture
According to True Crime News, in a shocking incident in New Orleans 34-year-old John Pittman has been arrested for allegedly attacking his mother with a chainsaw severely injuring her arm. The incident occurred in the peaceful Gentilly neighborhood prompting a swift response from police. They discovered Pittman’s 70-year-old mother with a severely damaged arm and rushed her to the hospital for urgent medical care. Following the attack law enforcement located Pittman at a residence on Franklin Avenue and successfully apprehended him. However the arrest was not without its own share of drama. During the confrontation two officers sustained injuries. One officer suffered serious injuries to her leg, neck, and head after reportedly falling during the apprehension. The other officer was bitten on the arm by Pittman during the struggle. Pittman now faces serious charges including attempted first-degree murder battery of a police officer resisting arrest and disarming a peace officer underscoring the gravity of the situation.

Previous records indicate he was arrested for assaulting a Marine Corps veteran at a train station an incident that resulted in charges of second-degree battery and simple battery of the infirm. Despite being released on bond for that offense Pittman now finds himself entangled in a far more severe legal predicament with his bond set at over $1 million.
