End-of-July SNAP Payments to Hit Accounts in Eight States
Additional SUN Bucks Provided for Households with School-Age Children
As July ends SNAP beneficiaries in eight states will receive their SNAP payments by Sunday. These funds up to $1,751 for a household of eight are provided via an EBT card that works like a debit card for grocery purchases. To qualify for SNAP payments a household must earn at or below 130% of the federal poverty level—$32,328 annually or $2,072 monthly, according to The Washington Examiner.
An individual recipient can receive a monthly SNAP allotment of $291. During the summer households with school-age children are eligible for extra funding to offset the absence of free and reduced-price lunch programs when schools are closed. These additional SNAP payments called SUN Bucks will be added to the July balance for families who qualify. This extra support helps ease the financial burden of feeding children during the summer months.
