34-Year-Old Suspect Detained in Bristol Linked to Suitcase Murders in Southwest England

According to CBS News, British police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the deaths of two men whose human remains were discovered in suitcases in southwest England. The arrest occurred early Saturday at a train station in Bristol. The Metropolitan Police reported that armed officers detained the suspect and that he will be taken to London for questioning regarding the human remains. The grisly discovery began when police found the suitcases near the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol on Wednesday. The following day, additional human remains were found at an address in Shepherd’s Bush west London. Forensic officers dressed in blue suits and masks were seen working at the Shepherd’s Bush crime scene on Saturday morning. The police have stated that extensive inquiries are ongoing. At this time, they are not looking for any other suspects related to this incident. Previously, the police had named Colombian national Yostin Andres Mosquera as someone they wished to locate and speak to regarding the case. The investigation started around midnight on Wednesday when police received reports of a man behaving strangely near the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. By the time officers arrived the man who had traveled there by taxi had already left. The taxi has been seized and the driver is assisting the police with their investigation.

Latest Developments in Bristol Suitcase Murders Investigation and Related Arrests

The victims have not yet been formally identified but are believed to be adults. An autopsy on one of the victims was inconclusive and a second post-mortem examination is still ongoing. In a related development a 36-year-old man was arrested in Greenwich southeast London on Friday in connection with the investigation. However, he has since been released without charge. This arrest comes shortly after another gruesome case in England where a 26-year-old man was detained following an hours-long manhunt. The man was suspected of killing three women with a crossbow.
