According to tallahassee, Starting July 1, Florida’s food stamp program, called SNAP, is changing. The government is making it harder for low-income people to get help with food. The program is now only for people who are 50 or older, pregnant, or have a disability.

Some people are worried that this change will hurt older adults who need food assistance. Almost 7% of Floridians between 50 and 59 years old and 8.5% of those 60 and older don’t have enough food.

The new law also makes it hard for Americans to get food stamps if they make too much money. This means that people might be afraid to get a job or try to make more money because they might lose their benefits. To help with this problem, the law creates a program to help people move from public assistance to being self-sufficient. But it doesn’t give them any extra money to help with living expenses.
