According to The Sacramento Bee, in a tragic incident at a Holiday Inn Express parking lot in Elk Grove, Sacramento resident Derrick Michael Walker aged 35 lost his life in a fatal shooting that occurred around 10:15 p.m. on a Wednesday. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office confirmed Walker as the victim. Elk Grove Police Department responded promptly to the scene following a 911 call reporting gunfire. According to Sergeant Jason Jimenez, spokesperson for the department initial investigations suggest that the shooting was not a random act of violence. It was clarified that none of the individuals involved were guests staying at the hotel where the altercation took place.
