Arrest and Investigation: Tran Apprehended Following Extensive Probe

According to ABC9 kcrg New York City police officer Hieu Tran faces charges of attempted murder and unlawful weapon possession after a road rage incident. Tran appeared in court on Friday for the arraignment. Detectives say Tran shot a 30-year-old man during the incident in Voorhees Township New Jersey, on May 17 and then ran away.

Following an extensive investigation authorities succeeded in apprehending Tran on Thursday. Sources indicate that detectives utilized various pieces of evidence including surveillance footage cell phone records and ballistics evidence to identify Tran as the suspect responsible for the shooting. Subsequently Tran was extradited to New Jersey after his arraignment to face further legal proceedings. Meanwhile the victim of the shooting was taken to the hospital for treatment and remains under medical care.

Tran’s Employment Status and Legal Proceedings

At the time of the incident Tran was employed by the New York City Police Department and was off-duty. He served in the social media unit for the department’s press office. In response to the serious charges against him, Tran has been suspended without pay by the department. Tran’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 21, according to WCBS.

Furthermore, following an extensive investigation, authorities managed to apprehend Tran on Thursday utilizing various pieces of evidence such as surveillance footage, cell phone records, and ballistics evidence to identify him as the suspect. After his arraignment Tran was extradited to New Jersey to face further legal proceedings. Meanwhile the victim of the shooting was hospitalized for treatment and remains under medical care.
