The government gave them $30 per month to get high-speed internet. This helped 23 million households in the US get online. But now, the government doesn’t have enough money to keep the program going.

Starting June 1st, the program will stop, and people won’t be able to get the discounted rates. Many people are worried about this because they won’t be able to afford the internet anymore. The person in charge of the FCC said that 77% of the people who got help from the program would be hurt by its end.
