Homeport Builds Affordable Housing in Central Ohio
New Homes and Renovations for Affordable Living
According to bizjournals, Homeport, a non-profit organization, is helping people in Central Ohio find affordable places to live. The Ohio Housing Finance Agency has given Homeport money to help build two new projects. The projects will add new homes and fix old ones.
The first project is called Hamilton Place. It will add 60 new homes on North Hamilton Road. Some of these homes will be special for people with physical disabilities. Others will be for people who make less than $70,000 a year. The homes will have nice things like a manager, a community room, and a playground. Homeport is also fixing an old community called Emerald Glen. It will get new apartments and a playground.
Homeport’s Mission to Provide Affordable Housing
Homeport’s CEO, Leah Evans says these projects are important for finding housing in Central Ohio. She wants to make sure everyone has a place to live. Aaron Wasserman, Homeport’s vice president, says they want to give people good choices for where to live. “We want people to have good options and afford them,” he said. With these projects moving forward, Homeport is one step closer to making that happen.
